File Transfer:

When using the File Transer System, you don't really need a handbook or much advice. However, to avoid server breakdown and confusion, you might want to read on.

Uploading a file:

When the upload button is pressed, you get a form input screen at the bottom of your screen. In the first form you input the name of your file on your intranet or harddisc etc. In the next form you input what information you want for the file on the system. When done, you press the submit button, and the screen will automatically update itself when the file has been uploaded. Uploading large files can take several minutes and your browser will not reveal any process status while doing this so please be patient.
Be aware of a bug in Netscape for unix! If you try to upload a library and not a file the browser will get confused and stall the process (don't worry, it will only cause any damage). To download a file, simply place your mouse on the file and press the mouse button. Unless Netscape can display it, a normal saving window will appear. Should you want to save the file allthough displayed by Netscape, then hold down the shift key when you click on the filename.

Deleting a file:

Press the "delete file" and type in the name of the file.

Making a new directory:

When the Make dir button is pressed, you get a single form input screen at the bottom of your screen. Here you type in the name you want for the directory and either press enter or the submit button. To avoid security leacks, your directory name will be stripped for all non-alphanumeric characters. You can select wich level you want for the directory by selecting levels 1 through 5.

Deleting a directory:

All empty directories are deletable. Press the "delete dir" button and type in the name of the directory.
